The Summer of 2010

Summer is finally here and BSC is open for fun.
If you haven't been to the pool yet please stop by and check out the new paint, the fresh flowers and sparkling water, it's never looked better.

BSC is currently open weekends, starting Jun 14th we will be open after school and the full time season starts June 23rd . Please check the web site or Water Log for opening hours.

The first two week swim lesson sessions begin June 28-July 9th, $25 per child. Please sign up at the desk.

Adult Party and Fund Raiser June 11 8pm
Teen Night Thursday June 24th
Family/raft nights being July 15

The Barracudas need you!
Join the swim team and participate in up to 5 meets throughout July. Applications are located on the website and the forms are due June 3rd for participation in the 2010 season.

Pool Happenings June 29 - July 5

This Week
Summer is finally here. We wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July weekend.
Crafts begin next week July 6, 1-3pm down in the picnic area. See bulletin board for the weekly schedule.
Family Raft Night
Always popular, don’t miss the first family fun night on, Thursday, July 2 6:30-9:30. Bring something to grill, BSC provides the charcoal and lemonade and don’t forget your rafts for some fun in the pool. (Future Family Fun Nights will be Thursdays, July 16, July 30 and August 13th)
Pool Hours
June 27th-August 23rd
Weekends 11:00-8:30pm
Weekdays 12:8pm
Early Closing/Late openings
Due to swim meets held at BSC the pool hours will change for the following dates;
Tuesday, July 7 pool will close at 4pm
Saturday, July 25th will open at 1pm (one hour later)
*Please note time change; the baby pool will be open @10:30am during swim lessons 6/25-7/31.
Swim lessons
Began this week June 29; sign up sheets are in the office. Swim lessons will be run by Vin Mazza. Fee-$25 per two week session. Next session begins July 13.
Berkeley Barracudas Swim Team Update
Barracudas started the season with a great performance; they didn’t win but scored over 200 points against Clearwater. Congratulations to all of the Swimmers and Coach Al on a great job!
Next home meet is on Tuesday, July 7 where we will be collecting non-perishable food items to help local food pantries.
Team participants, please remember to sign-up for your volunteer shifts and bring in your beverages to be sold at the meets.

Notes from the Board
Our Teen Social last Wednesday night was a huge success. Thanks for all that participated.
Water squinters are now only permitted in the recreation area, not on the pool deck.
Reminder; food is only permitted in the picnic areas.
Badges and admittance to the pool require payment of invoices first.

Pool Happenings: June 11-17

This Week
The weather forecast for this weekend looks great, so if you haven’t made it to the pool so far this season we hope to see you there.

This Sunday, June 14 12pm-5pm, we will be having an Open House for prospective members to come and tour the pool and spend the day with us. Please spread the word.

Coming Soon

Adult Social
Save the date: Friday June 19, 8pm-Midnight
This is a great event so book a babysitter and bring your friends for a fun and festive evening under the stars. Music by DJ Jason, $20 person and BYOB.

Teen Social
A great way for celebrate the last day of school. The Teen Social will be held at 5pm on June 24. $15 per person. Music and activities.

Mountain Park Party
The Mountain Park end of school party will be help at BSC from 2-4pm. The pool will open to members at 4pm

Family Raft Night

Berkeley Barracudas Swim Team Update

The swim team has managed to sneak in a few practices between the rain storms and is off to a good start.

There are still openings on the swim team and we would love for you to join us. There are registration forms in the office and online at http://berkeleyswimclub.com/new/swimteam.html

Notes from the Board

Thanks to everyone for their understanding and support after the unfortunate incident at the pool last weekend. We want you to know we are working with the police and taking additional measures to prevent these acts of vandalism.

We were pleased that so many members showed up to enjoy the great weather and our beautiful surroundings.

If you have not yet paid your dues for this season, please do so. We a have copy of the have invoices in the front office if you are unclear of your status. Badges and admittance to the pool require payment of the invoices first.
